About the Role
Based in Alderney, the Director of Licensing is to manage and lead the licensing function of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, overseeing investigations and the co-ordination of enforcement action. This is a senior appointment at the Commission.
Key Areas
The key performance areas of this position will include:
Providing legal guidance relating to the Alderney eGambling Ordinance
Oversee applicant investigations
Prepare and report on Executive Committee papers
Authorise and co-ordinate enforcement action
Maintain and develop regulatory and legislative structure and policy
Oversee the internal secretariat function
Render legal advice to the Executive Committee
Liaise with the AeGL, Alderney Registry, Corporate Service Providers and Law Officers
Contribute to the strategic forum
Key Skills
The Director of Licensing should display the following ongoing key skills:
Qualified legal professionalÂ
Experience in the eGambling sector desirableÂ
Investigative skills relating to large and complex corporate structures
Understanding of ML/TF/PF typologies and the exploitation of legal persons and arrangements
Ability to understand and interpret Alderney legislation
The ability to express difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner
The ability to work under pressure and provide practical and decisive advice, sometimes in urgent situations
Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to deal with people at all levels
The ability to work as part of a team and a commitment to team working
Line Management
The Director of Licensing will report to the Executive Director.
